The cows will descend from the mountain up Grenoble (Isere), this Saturday, October 9, 2021, on the occasion of the 11e edition of the Descent des Alpages. So do not be surprised to find herds in the capital of the Alps, several parades are on the program.
Between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., they will leave from the Bastille, the Stade des Alpes and the Place Robert Schuman to all converge in the direction of the Place de Metz.
Tastings, blessing of the herds, farms for children …
Many festive events will take place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from rue de Strasbourg to place de l’Étoile and place de Metz. Young and old will be able to approach the animals, some of which will be presented on stage.
Cows, sheep and donkeys will be part of the festival in the heart of the artisans, tasting stands, music scenes, the children’s farm and gastronomic events.
At 3 p.m., the awards ceremony for the National Tableware Competition will take place, followed by a blessing of the herds and chefs at 4 p.m.
Milking and milk tasting workshops will be offered at 5 p.m.
