Seven infected with Covid19 registered at the acceptance of the Brescia civil hospitals, the switchboard was placed in isolation.
The story begins on September 2, when an employee who works at the switchboard of the hospital had some symptoms of Coronavirus infection. Sore throat and difficulty swallowing caused management to decide to swab him for nasopharyngeal. The analysis gave a positive response.
The patient’s colleagues and their contacts were isolated and the confirmation analysis of the presence of Coronavirus was carried out on them. Six employees were infected, most with mild symptoms. For the other employees, the test gave a negative result, they were therefore dismissed by Civilian Spedali di Brescia and subjected to home surveillance.
A press release from the Directorate General of the Civil Hospitals of Brescia makes it known that theAAST (Preventive Medicine Service) has activated the employee health monitoring service since March. With this reporting system, everyone can communicate the onset of symptoms of Covid19 or contacts with subjects who tested positive. The structure then takes care of activating the isolation protocol.

Only one family member of sick employees tested positive for Coronavirus after being subjected to contact tracing by the ASST. Further inquiries into the patient’s contacts gave negative results.
Throughout the province of Brescia 39 new Covid19 positives were recorded on the last day. They are added to the 604 people placed in home isolation. Very high numbers that lead the health authorities to reiterate the risk of returning to the dark days of the epidemic and the need to wear a mask and wash hands often.
