The social network Twitter has unveiled its list of the words most used by Internet users for the year 2021. Not surprisingly, the hashtags related to the health crisis are the ones that come up the most. As for the emissions, it is “Koh Lanta”, the adventure game of TF1, which arrives at the top of the classification.

End of the year requires, the rankings fall one after the other. And Twitter is one of these social networks to have delivered their statistics for 2021. It has indeed unveiled its list of the keywords most used by Internet users from January 1 to December 1 in France. So what were the three most commented topics?

Emmanuel Macron, the most discussed personality

Unsurprisingly, the hashtags that come up the most are those linked to the health crisis: # Covid19, #PassSanitaire and #Macron. On its own, # Covid19 has accumulated 6.4 million tweets in one year. This is the second consecutive time that the pandemic has imposed itself on the podium. Last year, this hashtag had accumulated 12.9 million tweets. Emmanuel Macron is the most mentioned personality this year in France on Twitter, ahead of Korean K-pop group BTS, and footballer Lionel Messi, with 4 million French tweets.

On the TV show side, it’s the adventure game Koh Lanta who comes first, ahead Do not touch My TV and The Voice. They are also closely followed by L’Eurovision and Dance with the stars. But the year 2021 is not over. There is no doubt that the election of Miss France on Saturday evening will be in the top of the most commented shows.
