“Covid19” is the most frequently used keyword on Twitter this year

The corona pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement were the most common topics in the Twitter short message service in 2020. The keyword “Covid19” and its variants “have been used almost 400 million times around the world,” as Twitter announced on Monday. The second most used hashtag was “BlackLivesmatter” for the worldwide movement for minority rights. Political and social issues had “a great response on the platform,” said the US company.

The tweet most marked with a heart worldwide in 2020 was reportedly the news of the death of US actor Chadwick Boseman, published on his account by his family. The message received around 7.5 million likes – and was forwarded 2.1 million times.
