COVID19: Extension of the obligation to wear a mask to 5 new municipalities

After discussions with the mayors concerned, the decision was taken to extend by prefectural decree the perimeter of wearing masks outdoors from this Friday, December 10, 2021 to the following municipalities: Digoin, Gueugnon, Louhans, Paray-le-Monial and Tournus.

The scope of the obligation for these municipalities is defined in the prefectural decree of December 9, which can be viewed on the website of the State services of Saône-et-Loire: http: //www.saone-et-loire. gouv.fr/extension-de-l-obligation-du-port-du-masque-en-a14531.html

This decision aims to protect populations against a spread of the virus which is not decelerating (the incidence rate in Saône-et-Loire is 534.8 / 100,000 inhabitants according to Public Health France against 447.7 per 100,000 inhabitants at the national level, for week 48) and to allow our hospitals to cope with the pressure due to COVID19. The strong epidemic dynamic weighs significantly on the health system with an increasing number of hospitalizations in recent weeks. As of December 8, 2021, 140 people were hospitalized, including 21 in critical care, according to figures from the Regional Health Agency.

The police will carry out educational checks this Friday, before carrying out strict checks on the obligation this weekend. Anyone who does not comply with the obligation to wear a mask in the places concerned by the decree will be fined € 135.

Curbing the fifth wave involves respecting barrier gestures (distancing, wearing a mask, washing hands), limiting social interactions, vaccination, recourse to screening and isolation at the slightest symptom suggestive of COVID.

Everyone is called to show responsibility and solidarity in all their daily actions, to protect others and the most vulnerable.
