The federal government plans to soon start vaccination against COVID-19 for teachers and educational personnel in general in the states of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Coahuila, Nayarit and Chiapas, reported this Tuesday Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Health.
According to the strategy, it is estimated that they will be immunized 529 thousand 989 teachers in total in these entities.
The census of educational personnel indicates that there are 92,403 educational workers in Tamaulipas; 197 thousand 430 in Veracruz; 82 thousand 4 in Coahuila; 35,316 in Nayarit; and 122,836 in Chiapas.
In the case of education workers, new ‘Correcaminos’ brigades will be formed for vaccination.
The brigades will coordinate with the local health secretaries, as well as with other agencies, said López-Gatell.
“In the case of Veracruz, the Secretary of the Navy will directly take charge of the operation in coordination with the SEP. In the case of Tamaulipas and Coahuila, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) in coordination with the SEP. In Chiapas, the IMSS in coordination with the SEP will operate directly. And in the case of Nayarit it will be the ISSSTE ”, he reported on the strategy.
