Florence, December 27, 2021 – Covid Tuscany, i new infections, today 27 December, return below 3 thousand. To be precise i new cases registered in Tuscany are 2.843. The figure emerges from a total of 17.650 tests including 10,839 molecular swabs and 6,811 rapid tests. The rate of new positives is 16.11% (47.2% on first diagnoses).
The new daily positives are therefore down on the previous day but it should be pointed out that the detection concerns a other public holiday. Yesterday i new cases detected mainly on the 24 hours of Christmas were 3,075 on 15,616 tests of which 12,073 molecular swabs and 3,543 rapid tests, while the rate of new positives was higher, at 19.69%.
Uphill admissions
The hospitalized are 569 (54 more than yesterday), of which 76 in intensive care (4 more).
Nine dead
Today there are 9 new deaths: 5 men and 4 women with an average age of 79 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased people are: two in Florence, two in Prato, two in Pistoia, one in Lucca, one in Livorno and one in Arezzo. 7,525 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 2,411 in Florence, 662 in Prato, 703 in Pistoia, 549 in Massa Carrara, 713 in Lucca, 761 in Pisa, 437 in Livorno, 570 in Arezzo, 383 in Siena, 238 in Grosseto, 98 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
New positive mean age
The average age of 2,843 new positives today is approximately 36 years (21% are under 20, 39% between 20 and 39, 28% between 40 and 59, 10% between 60 and 79, 2% have 80 years or older).
The vaccination started a year ago
Eugenio Giani, through his social channels, remembers that “vaccines started a year ago. Swabs processed and positivity rate
The healed grew by 0.2% and reached 297,328 (88.2% of total cases). Today, 10,839 molecular swabs and 6,811 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 16.1% were positive. People in isolation

There are 46,389 (1,472 more than yesterday, plus 3.3%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Centro 18.198, North West 16.045, South East 12.146).
