Florence, June 18, 2021 – In Tuscany I’m 243,747 cases of positivity al Coronavirus, 67 more than yesterday (65 confirmed with molecular swab and 2 by rapid antigen test). New cases are 0.03% more than the previous day’s total. The healed grew by 0.1% and reached 233,436 (95.8% of total cases). Today 6,232 molecular swabs and 9,264 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 0.4% were positive. On the other hand, 5,039 subjects were tested today (with antigenic and / or molecular swabs, excluding control swabs), of which l’1,3% (this is the positivity rate on the first diagnoses) was positive. The currently positive are 3,470 today, -4.7% compared to yesterday. The hospitalized are 189 (11 fewer than yesterday), of which 37 in intensive care (5 fewer). The average age of the 67 new positives today is approximately 43 years (15% are under 20 years old, 28% between 20 and 39 years old, 36% between 40 and 59 years old, 15% between 60 and 79 years old, 6% have 80 years or older).

There are 30 cases found today in the ASL Center, 21 in the North West, 16 in the South East. Tuscany is in 12th place in Italy in terms of number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 6,645 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average about 7,172 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces of notification with the highest rate are Prato with 8,809 cases x100,000 inhabitants, Pistoia with 7,900, Pisa with 7,012, the lowest Grosseto with 4,169.
The hospitalized
The people hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 189 (11 fewer than yesterday, minus 5.5%), 37 in intensive care (5 fewer than yesterday, minus 11.9%). Overall, 3,281 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care, or are symptom-free (160 fewer than yesterday, down 4.6%).
There are 11,260 (47 less than yesterday, minus 0.4%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Centro 5,807, North West 4,233, South East 1,220). . The total people healed are 233,436 (235 more than yesterday, plus 0.1%): 0 people clinically healed (stable compared to yesterday), that is, who became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 233,436 (235 more compared to yesterday, plus 0.1%) declared fully cured, the so-called viral healings, with negative swab.
The deaths
Unfortunately, today there are 3 new deaths: 2 men and one woman with an average age of 79. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased people are: 2 in Florence, 1 in Siena. 6,841 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 2,206 in Florence, 596 in Prato, 627 in Pistoia, 524 in Massa Carrara, 665 in Lucca, 701 in Pisa, 416 in Livorno, 503 in Arezzo, 330 in Siena, 182 in Grosseto, 91 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region. The Tuscan raw mortality rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 186.5 per 100,000 residents against 214.6 x100,000 for the Italian average (12th region). As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (276 per 100,000), Prato (232.8 per 100,000) and Florence (223.7 per 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (83.3 per 100,000).
