BOLOGNA Since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, 67,041 cases of positivity have been recorded in Emilia-Romagna, 1,953 more than yesterday, out of a total of 20,847 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made is 9.4% today, compared to 10.7% yesterday (2,176 cases on 20,332 swabs). The new regional RT, the transmissibility index of the virus, is 1.57, down from 1.63 last week.
Of the newly infected, 932 are asymptomatic. The average age of new positives today is 43.8 years.
The contagion situation in the provinces sees Bologna with 478 new cases, Modena with 309, then Reggio Emilia (279), Rimini (197), Parma (194), Piacenza (178), Ferrara (102), Ravenna (82), followed by Forlì (59) Imola (57), and Cesena (18).
The active cases, ie the number of actual patients, are 33,730 to date (1,757 more than yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, i.e. those with mild symptoms who do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, are a total of 31,880 (+1,672 compared to yesterday), 94.5% of active cases.
Unfortunately, there are 40 new deaths: 11 in the province of Reggio Emilia (eight men, two of which are 87 years old and the others 83,81,79,71, 69, 62; and three women respectively of 89,92 and 88 years ), 10 also in the province of Ravenna (six women, two of which are 94 years old and the others 93,91,86,71; four men of 91,89,71 and 63 years); 9 in the province of Modena (five women aged 100, 99, 92, 92, 86 and four men aged 90, 89, 82, 78), 3 in the province of Parma (two men aged 87 and 74 and a woman aged 94), 3 also in the province of Bologna (two women aged 87 and 79 and a man of 94), 2 in Piacenza (a man of 70 and a woman of 35 with previous pathologies), and 1 in the province of Ferrara (an 81 year old man) and in the province of Forlì-Cesena (a 76 year old woman). No deaths in the province of Rimini. Since the beginning of the epidemic, deaths in Emilia-Romagna totaled 4,752.
There are 177 patients admitted to intensive care (no increase compared to yesterday at the regional level), and 1,673 those in other Covid departments (+85).
In Bologna, Covid is present in one in ten elderly care facilities: in the metropolitan area there are 290 and of these 29 have positive cases, says Mayor Virginio Merola interviewed at the Emilia-Romagna Tgr.
In almost all of these structures “isolation takes place inside, the Ausl has strengthened controls – adds the mayor – and therefore we constantly monitor the situation”.
In the area, people admitted to intensive care are distributed as follows: 8 in Piacenza (-1 compared to yesterday), 18 in Parma (+1 compared to yesterday), 14 in Reggio Emilia (stable compared to yesterday), 31 in Modena ( -2 since yesterday), 61 in Bologna (-2 compared to yesterday), 4 in Imola (unchanged compared to yesterday), 11 in Ferrara (+2 since yesterday), 8 in Ravenna (unchanged), 4 in Forlì (+1 compared to yesterday), 2 in Cesena (number unchanged compared to yesterday) and 16 in Rimini (+1 compared to yesterday).
The total number of people healed rose to 28,559 (+156 compared to yesterday).
