Florence, 4 December 2020 – There are 1,071 more positives than yesterday, out of a total, since the beginning of the epidemic, equal to 106,875 units. New cases are 1% more than the previous day’s total. Healed grow by 4.7% and reach 70,798 (66.2% of total cases). THE tampons executed reached 1,620,101, 14,074 more than yesterday, of which 7.6% positive. On the other hand, 4,152 subjects were tested today (excluding the control swabs), of which 25.8% were positive. To these are added the 4,313 rapid antigenic swabs performed today. The currently positive are 33,279 today, -6.1% compared to yesterday. The hospitalized are 1,681 (58 less than yesterday), of which 263 in ICU (9 fewer).
The average age
The average age of 1,071 cases today is around 48 years (13% are under 20, 23% between 20 and 39, 32% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79, 10% are 80 or older).
The map of the new infections
There are 29,906 total cases to date in Florence (273 more than yesterday), 9,419 in Prato (117 more), 9,405 in Pistoia (120 more), 6,748 in Massa (77 more), 10,776 in Lucca (136 more), 14,862 in Pisa (191 more), 7,473 in Livorno (70 more), 9,669 in Arezzo (31 more), 4,335 in Siena (44 more), 3,727 in Grosseto (12 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. There are 529 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 455 in the North West, 87 in the South East.
Tuscany is in 9th place in Italy in terms of number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 2,866 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average about 2,758 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest rate of notification are Prato with 3,655 cases x100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,547, Massa Carrara with 3,463, the lowest Siena with 1,622.
Overall, 31,598 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (2,093 fewer than yesterday, minus 6.2%). I’m 33.870 (994 fewer than yesterday, minus 2.9%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance, because they have had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 11.413, North West 16.086, South East 6.371).

The hospitalizations and healings
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,681 (58 less than yesterday, minus 3.3%), 263 in intensive care (9 less than yesterday, minus 3.3%).
The people overall heal they are 70.798 (3,180 more than yesterday, plus 4.7%): 454 people clinically cured (39 less than yesterday, minus 7.9%), that is, who became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 70,344 (3,219 more than yesterday, more 4.8%) declared cured in all respects, the so-called viral healings, with negative swab.
The deaths
Today there are 42 new deaths: 23 men and 19 women with an average age of 80. Relative to the province of residence, the deceased persons are: 11 in Florence, 4 in Prato, 6 in Pistoia, 4 in Massa Carrara, 3 in Lucca, 6 in Pisa, 2 in Livorno, 2 in Arezzo, 3 in Siena, 1 in Grosseto. Some of the deaths reported to the regional offices in the past 24 hours refer to deaths in the past few weeks.

The Tuscan raw mortality rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 75.0 x100,000 residents against 96.2 x100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (163.7 x100.000), Florence (100.0 x100.000) and Prato (74.1 x100.000), the lowest in Grosseto (28.4 x100.000).
