Covid Stories

By: Bethel Garcia Vargas

In the last week, high temperatures have been registered in the capital of Hidalgo, as well as in other regions of the state, which, although they do not compare with the thirty-something degrees that can be registered in other places, it is not like that for us, because the Those of us who live in Pachuca know that we can have the four seasons of the year in one day, but not such suffocating heat as the 27-28 or 29°C that have been present to end “winter”.

I have heard and received comments in which both men and women complain about the sun, because it does have certain benefits, clothes dry faster and through the sun we absorb vitamin D, but what is not so nice is that prolonged exposure At the same time, it causes our skin to dry and burn, it dehydrates us and this causes headaches and fatigue.

And although I am from #TeamFrío, I like the sun, but not as burning as now and, as many acquaintances say, “we are not yet in spring”; so it feels the high temperatures will continue even stronger.

My personal recommendation is that we always stay hydrated, use sunscreen and carry it with us to replace it from time to time, not exposing ourselves to the sun for so long if it is not necessary.

As for food, it seems that now that the Covid has decreased, or is being milder, stomach infections occur at this time of year, since heat is a factor that alters or accelerates the decomposition of food and that makes that generate stomach upsets that send us home.

Making a comparison between the respiratory disease that can cause us fever and the stomach diseases that cause diarrhea and both dehydrate us, the important thing will always be to stay hydrated, with water or serums that contain electrolytes and not just sugars.

Another point, as I mentioned above, is food, because we must take care of what we eat, not only by having a balanced diet, but also by knowing where we buy our products, disinfecting them and eating them immediately to avoid their decomposition or contamination.

Remember, dear readers, that this week marks International Women’s Day and there will probably be marches, be patient and measure your time, let’s avoid generating cyber violence with inappropriate comments on networks about notes or photographs that are published specifically on this topic, we all deserve respect from other people, as long as you don’t receive an attack, you don’t have to generate it, empathy is the basis of respect for another human being and living being in general.
Drink water and use a filter, until next time.
