SANTO DOMINGO.- In the midst of the increase in positivity to Covid-19 infections, the authorities are warning the population to complete the vaccination program and apply another booster dose, as well as to use a mask to avoid contracting the virus.
The Ministry of Health reported yesterday that the Omicron XBB.1 subvariant is the predominant one with 63.74 percent of cases recorded, as it is more contagious, but less lethal.
Greater Santo Domingo has recorded the highest number of infections in recent days, with 20 to 39 people being the most infected.
The Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera, stressed that he wants to vaccinate, especially those who have some complications that could be complicated by the virus, and said that only 400,000 booster dose vaccines have been applied, for which he urges that they get to place a fifth .
He indicated that the healthcare system has room to deal with a possible outbreak.
