The number of Covid patients in Andalusian hospitals has decreased by 6%. Thus, it has gone from 757 on Saturday to 711 on Sunday, which means 46 fewer people, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía. This decrease in admitted people takes place in Andalusia for the fifth consecutive day. Of the total hospitalized, 178 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), five less than on Saturday.
By provinces, Seville is the one with the most Covid-19 patients in hospitals: 203, of which 54 are in ICU. They are followed by Granada, with 107 (37); Málaga, with 98 (17 in the ICU); 95 in Jaén (21º); 69 in Córdoba (20); 66 in Cádiz (17 in ICU); 54 in Huelva (6) and 19 in Almería (6).
As for the vaccination plan, to date 5.2 million doses have been administered in Andalusia. They already have at least one dose 3.4 million Andalusians, while 1.9 million have the complete guideline. At this time, 22.7% of the total Andalusian population is already immunized against Covid, although if only the population over 16 is counted, that percentage rises to 27.2%. In this way, the region has closed its best vaccination week by putting 587,394 vaccines from Sunday, May 30 to this Saturday, June 5, about 137,000 more than last week, when the previous record was registered (450,754).
Municipalities with «extreme risk»
Andalusia maintains 156 municipalities in a situation of “extreme risk” for exceeding 250 cases of coronavirus Covid-19 confirmed in the last 14 days four weeks after the end of the state of alarm, including two provincial capitals -Granada and Huelva- that repeat for the second week. In total, there are eleven more localities at “extreme risk” by Covid than there were seven days ago.
In addition, seven of these 156 municipalities in a situation of “extreme risk” in the provinces of Cádiz, Jaén and Seville also exceed the rate of 1,000 cases in the last two weeks, although only two of them exceed 5,000 inhabitants -the Sevillians of La Algaba and Cantillana-, criteria set by the Board to request judicial endorsement to decree the perimeter closure and the suspension of all non-essential activity.
According to the latest Covid-19 incidence data by municipalities updated by the Ministry of Health, consulted by Europa Press, Granada continues to be the province with the most localities in its health districts «at extreme risk» by Covid with 40 -one more than a week ago-, followed by Seville with 33 -six less-; Jaén with 24 -one more-; Huelva with 21 -equal-; Malaga with 16 -one more-; Córdoba with eleven -one more-, Cádiz with seven -one more- and Almería with four -one more-.
