It has been 9 days since cattle with lumpy skin disease were first reported in Korea, and the disease has been confirmed at 56 farms to date, continuing to spread.
With domestic vaccine reserves exhausted, 1.27 million doses of vaccine arrived from overseas yesterday, and full-scale vaccination begins today.

Vaccination is the only way to truly control the spread of bovine lumpy skin disease.
While 540,000 doses of bovine lumpiskin vaccine stored in the country have been used up, the first batch of emergency vaccines has arrived from Turkye.
The vaccine that arrived at Incheon International Airport was loaded onto a refrigerated truck and headed to the outbreak areas of South Chungcheong Province, North Chungcheong Province, Jeonbuk Province, Gyeonggi Province, and Gangwon Province.
On farms with more than 50 cows, the vaccine is administered by the farm owner like any other vaccine.
Farms with fewer than 50 animals are vaccinated by a vaccination team.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and each local government have formed over 930 vaccination teams comprised of over 2,000 veterinarians and others.
We plan to bring in additional vaccines and vaccinate 4 million people across the country.

Since lumpiskin disease is transmitted by mosquitoes and flies, disinfection of the farm and surrounding area is also important.
Lumpiskin confirmed in farms in 6 cities and provinces within 8 days of domestic outbreak (until the 28th),
Livestock farmers are risking their lives on prompt vaccination.
