Covid: nearly four out of ten screening tests are positive in Bourgogne Franche-Comté according to the ARS

“The incidence rate exceeds 1,400 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Nearly 4 out of 10 screening tests are positive.” In its weekly update published this Friday, April 15, 2022, the Regional Health Agency of Bourgogne Franche-Comté takes stock of the health situation in the region. “The circulation of the virus is continuing the slowdown that began last week but remains at a very high level in Bourgogne Franche-Comté”, indicates the ARS.

The ongoing flu epidemic for a month is stabilizing. But “the impact of these two viral fronts continues to weigh on the healthcare system, with hospitalizations still on the rise which can generate tensions in certain healthcare establishments.” In this context, the ARS always recommends “wearing a mask in places of significant promiscuity or with vulnerable people”.

More than 6,000 deaths in health establishments

On the vaccination side, the second booster is “possible and strongly recommended” for people aged 80 and over. It is also “open and recommended” to people aged 60 to 79, from 6 months after the first booster injection or after the last infection.

Since March 2020, 6,212 people have died in health facilities in the region from a severe form of Covid; i.e. 47 additional deaths in one week. In Yonne, the death toll has risen to 820 since the start of the epidemic. We deplore 8 new deaths in one week.
