COVID medication can only be used with a prescription (video)

Paxlovid cannot be used by anyone just because they have COVID; certain precise specifications must be followed, said the head of Health Jurisdiction One, Julio Garibaldi Zapatero.

During the pandemic and some time afterwards, the Ministry of Health of the state of Coahuila gave us a batch of Paxlovid with the precise indications because approximately a week ago, Cofepris authorized the commercialization of the medication.

Garibaldi Zapatero explained that the drug is contraindicated in patients with renal failure, with a known allergy to any of its components; it is indicated in the first few days, before the week and is not for patients with mild illness.

For patients with moderate to severe illness, it is indicated within the first five days so that it can be effective. We do not have it right now, we hope that they will be able to provide it to us soon. For now, we do not have the need to indicate it, we have not seen a case that requires it.

He said Paxlovid is an antiviral that must be purchased with a prescription.
