Covid: mandatory health pass to access the Christmas markets

Following Olivier Véran’s announcements this Thursday, November 25, 2021, the health pass becomes compulsory to access the Christmas markets, back almost everywhere in France as the end of the year celebrations approach.

In order to stem this 5th epidemic wave, the government met on November 24 around the President of the Republic, studying various possible measures to be put in place. This Thursday, November 25, 2021, Olivier Veran detailed these various measures taken by the executive. For now, the confinement is not on the agenda. On the other hand, the government took the decision to open the 3rd dose of vaccine to all adults 18 years and older, but also of reduce the validity of the PCR test to 24 hours.

Another measure? The return of mandatory mask indoorsin places open to the public, even subject to a health pass.

Regarding the health pass precisely, the Minister of Health also announced, while the end-of-year celebrations are in full swing, that the Christmas markets will be subject to the health pass. Olivier Veran specified that it is the prefects who will decide on their outfits.

As a reminder, several Christmas markets have already made their comeback in several major cities in France, including Paris. We think in particular of the Christmas markets of the Tuileries and La Défense.
