New weekly cases, incidence rate, number of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit… If these data are down on the epidemic assessment dated Friday, February 4, 2022, “the virus is still actively circulating in Brittany”, says theRegional Health Agency.
102,465 new cases in one week
Since the last weekly update carried out on January 28, 2022, “ 102,465 new positive cases have been identified in the region”, indicates the ARS. And, as for the incidence rate, this now amounts to 3,325.1 cases per 100,000 population with a positivity rate of 39.6%.
For comparison, the incidence rate was 3,458.1 cases a week ago.
As for the care of Covid-positive patients in Breton hospitals, “642 hospitalizations” are underway in the region. In details :
- 79 are in intensive care (- 10)
- 424 are treated with conventional medicine (+ 7)
Sixty new deaths recorded in one week
Since the start of the epidemic, no less than 12,583 hospitalized patients have been able to return home. And, 2,131 patients have died, including 60 in the past week.
As of February 3, 7 612 234 injections were carried out in Brittany on February 3, 2022. The vaccination coverage of the Breton population is 84.2% of all ages, and “96.4% for those over 12 years old”, specifies the ARS.
As for the situation in schools, two were closed as of February 4.
