The UN denounces that millions of people are still waiting for the COVID vaccine
Antonio GuterresSecretary General of the UN, denounced this Wednesday that almost three billion people are still waiting to be vaccinated against COVID since the start of the pandemic.
“Vaccine distribution remains shockingly uneven. Manufacturers are producing 1.5 billion doses a month, but nearly 3 billion people are waiting for their first shot,” Guterres said in a statement.
In addition, it considers that this unequal distribution is due to the “failure” regarding political and budgetary decisions that “they prioritize the health of people and rich countries over the poor”he points out.
