The curve flattens: the risk of regrowth and the speed of transmission grow
The epidemic curve of the sixth wave has stopped going down and tends to flatten outwith a growth, for the first time in 40 days, in the risk of a resurgence, which continues at very high levels, and with an increase in the speed of spread of the virus that is close to one and today is already at 0.91.
According to data updated this Monday by the Department of Health, today there are 1,152 people admitted for COVID in hospitals, 22 more than yesterday, of which 161, two less than the day before, are in serious condition in ICUs.
The speed of spread of the virus (Rt) began to rise and stood at 0.91, three hundredths more than yesterday, that is, every hundred infected infected an average of 91 people, which indicates that the epidemic continues to decline, but more slowly.
The risk of regrowth (EPG) rebounded today and stood at 602 points, six more than yesterday, a very high risk, since the “high risk” threshold is 100 points. (Eph)
