Confirm a new side effect of the COVID vaccine
The vaccination program against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is now approaching a year and a half in Spain, after the first doses were inoculated at the end of December 2020. Since then, more than 94 million vaccines have been administered, which have served to immunize some 40 million people in Spain with the full schedule. And of these, almost two thirds correspond to Pfizer (62 million), far ahead of the rest of the vaccines, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen.
On all of them, except Janssen, the international health authorities have detected new side effects, such as with urinary urgency, myocarditis, and overactive bladder. This is confirmed by a recent report published by the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan. According to this center vaccines ‘significantly’ associated with lower urinary tract problems.
The study, published in the journal Japan Journal of Clinical Medicine, reveals changes in the urinary urgency and frequency of patients. The research involved 889 volunteers, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines and who had not undergone any urological procedure in the last three months. The distribution of the vaccines was as follows: 65.9% received AstraZeneca (586), 29.2% (260) from Pfizer and the remaining 4.9% (89) from Moderna.
