Another massive screening campaign, on a voluntary and free basis for citizens, to test more and more people, intercept the new asymptomatic positives as quickly as possible and put out any outbreaks in the bud, starting with those in the family or at school.
Emilia-Romagna doubles: after rapid serological tests for the school world – from staff to students, with their relatives – Nasal tests for the detection of Coronavirus antigen, known as rapid swabs, also arrive at the pharmacy, with a result in just 15 minutes. Thanks to the second agreement that the Region has signed with the territorial trade associations of the affiliated pharmacies, public and private, from Monday 21 December and until 30 June 2021 (possibly extendable) it will start throughout the territory, from Piacenza to Rimini, this new epidemiological survey, potentially aimed at over 2 million citizens, about one in two residents. During the preparatory work for the shared document, it was considered useful to collect both the positive opinion of the Pharmacist Orders of our region and the observations of the trade union organizations – Filcams and Fisascat – on the subject of strengthening organizational measures and protecting the health and safety of pharmacists and pharmacists.
The novelty was illustrated today (11 December) by the President of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, by the Councilor for Health Policies, Raffale Donini, and by the representatives of the trade associations of the affiliated pharmacies. The recipients, in addition to the pharmacists participating in the project, are the same citizens of the screening started last October 19, the first of its kind in Italy, which allowed to test (with the participation of 939 affiliated pharmacies, 70% of those present in the region) already 309,000 people, of which only 0.2% tested positive for Coronavirus after confirmation molecular swab.
The invitation to participate, valid for citizens who have health care in the region, it is therefore to all schoolchildren and students from 0 to 18 years and adults who attend upper secondary school, with their parents (even if separated and / or not cohabiting and guardians / custodians), brothers and sisters and other cohabiting family members, as well as grandparents who are not cohabiting university students who have a general practitioner in Emilia-Romagna and those who, although assisted here, attend universities outside the region. And again: the staff of the educational services 0-3 years and the school staff of all levels, including the training bodies that provide the Vocational Education and Training Pathways (VET) and the students who attend them. For all, there will be the possibility to take the test once a month. An operation once again free for citizens thanks to the investment of the Region, which will reimburse the pharmacies € 16.76 for each test, including the supply of material, personal protective equipment and remuneration for the service.
How to join the campaign
To carry out the test it is enough make an appointment with the pharmacist, by consulting the list of members on a site that will be made available and constantly updated in the coming days. The pharmacist will take care, during the booking phase, to inform the citizen that the activity will be performed in self-test. In the case of minors, a parent or guardian must give their consent and be present to test the minor himself.
The activity will always be carried out in compliance with all safety measures, from the mandatory and correct use of the mask, which will be lowered only at the time of sampling and then repositioned correctly, to hand sanitation, from body temperature control to spacing . Precisely because it is a screening aimed only at people without symptoms, for the safety of citizens and pharmacists you cannot carry out the test if in the last 10 days you have had close contact with people affected by Covid-19, if you have a fever above 37.5 ° C or respiratory symptoms. For citizens who find themselves in these conditions, other paths are in fact active.
Test result
The pharmacist will register the data of the person undergoing the test on the regional pharmacy portal; the result is sent to the public health physician of the local health service and to the general practitioner. In case of positivity, the citizen will have to remain in isolation at his home avoiding contact with other people, waiting to be contacted by telephone by the public sanctity services of his own Ausl to perform the nasopharyngeal molecular swab, which will be able to confirm or not the presence of the virus.
