Covid hospitalizations drop to 14 in Cantabria, Spain: Latest updates as of May 20, 2021

SANTANDER, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)

The number of hospitalized for Covid in Cantabria has dropped to 14 in the last hours –one less–, and continues with one in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to the latest data from the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS) corresponding to the closure of May 19, on this day there have been 10 new cases of coronavirus in people over 60 years of age, three more than on Thursday.

In the last seven days, 62 new cases have been recorded in people over 60 years of age – the only group for which transmission data is given -, which rises to 115 if 14 days are taken into account.

The cumulative fourteen-day incidence in the elderly has dropped three points, to 66 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and remains at 35 to seven days.

Both parameters are at low risk, although Cantabria as a whole remains at controlled risk.

On the other hand, with the 14 hospitalized, bed occupancy stands at 0.9%, the same occupancy percentage as in the ICU with one patient.

Of the total admitted, eight are in the Marqus de Valdecilla Hospital, including the ICU; three in Sierrallana; and three at the Laredo Hospital.

In addition, no new deaths from Covid have been reported, with which the number of victims since the start of the pandemic in Cantabria remains at 1,025.
