Mexico City.- After presuming that Mexico is one of the 10 countries that apply the most vaccines against Covid-19 in the world, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador declared that the pandemic does not cause the same damage as before.
“The pandemic is still there, but it is not the same, it does not cause the same damage, because most Mexicans have their vaccine, they have their reinforcement and this has helped to ensure that there are no hospitalizations and most importantly, that there are no deaths. ”, he declared when inaugurating a branch of Blanco del Bienestar in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, Mexico City.
He argued that the high vaccination rates have prevented a rebound in medical units and in deaths due to SARS-CoV-2 in the country.
Together with Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, head of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), López Obrador showed off his social programs, such as Youth building the future, Sembrando Vida and the Welfare pension, of the latter he highlighted that it was raised to constitutional rank and assured that future administrations will not be able to remove it, in addition to the fact that the amount will be raised year after year.
“The older adults program was raised to constitutional status, whoever is there will not be able to remove it,” he remarked.
