At its meeting on Wednesday, November 16, the Covid-19 crisis management team of the Darmstadt Science City once again dealt with the development of the infection process in the city. According to the health department, the number of cases dropped from 564 cases in calendar week 44 to 417 cases in calendar week 45. This means a decrease of almost 26%. The incidence for Darmstadt is currently 244.9, for Hesse 218.

“The decline in the number of cases and incidence continues. This is a great development. The number of occupants in the clinics is also decreasing, so visits to the Darmstadt clinic are now possible again,” said the head of the crisis team, Mayor Jochen Partsch. “However, since the pandemic is ongoing, we ask the citizens to continue to be careful and cautious.Furthermore, we expect from the announced change in the Hessian state ordinance that, for example, the discussed lifting of the isolation obligation or the maintenance of protective measures will be fundamentally and plausibly regulated ”, says Partsch.
There are 71 (13) patients in the Darmstadt Clinic, 14 (0) in the Elisabethenstift, 5 (0) in the Alice Hospital and 0 patients with Covid-19 in the children’s clinics in the normal and intensive care units.

In view of the decline in incidences, the Darmstadt Clinic is loosening the visit regulations: one visit per patient per day is possible. Registrations are made via an online visitor system, which can be found on the homepage www.klinikum-darmstadt.de. All visitors must continue to present an up-to-date antigen test from a rapid testing center upon entry and must not have respiratory symptoms or fever. Visitors are also obliged to always wear the prescribed FFP2 mask protection during the entire period of stay in the clinic. In obstetrics the rules for visits remain in force: fathers can be present at the birth in the delivery room. In the mother-child wards there is a ban on visits only by the caregiver herself. As before, visits to intensive care units and corona wards must be arranged individually. The clinic can use the visitation system to react to the corona situation on a daily basis for each ward and room – it is therefore possible that the visitation regulations change at short notice.

No anomalies were reported from the daycare, nursing and school areas.
