COVID cases decrease 32%, the largest decrease on record

Health authorities reported 531 more deaths from COVID-19, for a total of 166 thousand 731 deaths confirmed by disease.

They also registered 3,868 cases, for a cumulative one million 932 thousand 145 people who have fallen ill since the beginning of the epidemic.

However, it is considered that 65 thousand 789 (3%) are active cases for presenting symptoms in the last 14 days.

At a press conference, authorities indicated that between week 3 and 4 of the year there was the greatest reduction in cases, registering a 32% decline in trend.

At the national level, there is an occupation of 49% of general hospital beds, while in beds with a ventilator; three entities (Mexico City, Morelos and Edomex) exceed 70%, the security level, according to authorities.

Regarding beds with a fan, the national occupancy is 46%. The capital of the country is the only one that exceeds the level of security in this type of beds.
