Covid Abruzzo, Verì: “For vaccinations towards an agreement with general practitioners.
First meeting in Pescara between the councilor for health, Nicoletta Verì and the organizations of general practitioners Fimmg, Snami, Smi and Intesa Sindacale. At the center of the discussion was their active involvement in the vaccination campaign.
The draft agreement prepared by the Region (which must be approved by the trade unions and implemented by the Local Health Authorities) was discussed, but on some fixed points the agreement seems to have been reached: doctors, for example, will take care of taking a census, among their clients, those who will have to be given priority vaccination as a result of a particularly delicate clinical picture. The characteristics of the doctors’ offices will then be verified, which must be adequate, with separate spaces for the administration and subsequent waiting times of the patients.
The general practitioner, however, may also operate in structures made available by other subjects (such as municipalities) using their own nursing or study staff. In these locations, identified as territorial vaccination points, the organization of the vaccination activity will be the responsibility of the ASL.
“The doctors – explains the commissioner – have shown great availability and openness to our proposals. We will shortly define the last aspects and sign the agreement in a very short time, for the benefit of the entire Abruzzo community “.
