COVID-19 Vaccines Arrive in Baja California to Immunize Children: Latest Updates

Tijuana.- Given the rebound in Covid-19 cases, a batch of vaccines arrived in Baja California to immunize children between the ages of five and 11, reported the state health secretary, Adrián Medina Amarillas.

The official specified that a total of 10,000 Pfizer biologicals will arrive in the state, with 3,000 already beginning to be applied this week in public places and schools in the state.

Medina Amarillas explained that this age group will be attended to, because a lag in immunization against the virus was detected.

“It is not an alert call, or anything, it is a population with less risk but it is to ensure that it is protected,” he added.

He mentioned that the batch will continue to be applied in the remainder of the year, urging parents to take their children to be immunized.

“Vaccinate the children, not because there is a risk of the pandemic restarting, if they have not received the vaccine, they will be protected when they receive it, but it is for peace of mind when the students are in the classroom,” he commented.
