Producers COVID-19 vaccine many predict the end of the pandemic. They said that the COVID-19 pandemic would end next year.
Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, said that people could start living a normal life again starting next year.
“Within a year, I think we will be able to return to normal life,” Bourla said in an interview with ABC News, Sunday (26/9/2021).
bunch Modern Stephane Bancel also predicted the same thing. In an interview with the Swiss newspaper, Neue Zuercher Zeitung, he attributed the prediction to the increasing production of vaccines.
“If you look at the broad expansion of industrial production capacity in the last 6 months, there will be enough doses available by the middle of next year so that everyone in the world can be vaccinated,” he said.
Additional vaccine doses may be required
Bourla and Bancel said that there is a possibility that people will receive an additional or booster dose of vaccine. According to Bourla, it is likely that people will vaccinate once a year. This can be a way to prevent the emergence of new variants, considering that the Corona virus can continue to mutate.
“I don’t think that variants won’t keep coming, and I don’t think that we can go through life without vaccination. But, again, it remains to be seen (development),” said Borula.
Meanwhile, Bancel said booster vaccinations may also be needed.
“Booster (third dose and so on) should also be possible as far as needed,” he said.
Furthermore, he also predicts the availability of vaccines for children under 12 years old. The allegation made Bancel believe that the pandemic would end soon in the second half of 2022.
“Now, within a year, I assume,” he said.
Similar predictions were also made by scientists who created AstraZeneca vaccine, Prof Dame Sarah Gilbert. More on the following page.
