Suara.com – The public is asked not to over-welcome the arrival of 1.2 million vaccines CoronaVac made by the company Sinovac Biotech China who arrived in Indonesia. Health protocols must be adhered to.
Vaccineologist and Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Dirga Sakti Rambe confirmed that until now the Sinovac vaccine has not passed phase III clinical trials and is still in the process of issuing Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
“I now see the tendency of many people to speculate, even though this is still in process. The POM is still conducting studies and there will not be any vaccinations before the permission from the POM is issued. This is the government’s effort to ensure that the vaccines we use are truly safe and effective, “said Dr. Dirga in the KPCPEN discussion, Tuesday (15/12/2020).
He emphasized that there needs to be extra efforts with the 3M health protocol (wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands) which must be carried out consistently so that the vaccination program can succeed in establishing herd immunity for the Indonesian people.

“It is not true that the COVID-19 virus will disappear by itself. There are millions of deaths due to this virus around the world, including in Indonesia. We cannot remain silent, our economy has been hit, work is also difficult,” he explained.
To note, the government has determined six types of COVID-19 vaccines that can be used in the vaccination process in Indonesia.
The six vaccines were produced by Bio Farma, Astrazeneca, China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm), Moderna, Pfizer Inc and BioNtech, and Sinovac Biotech.
