With a population total of just over 7,300,000 people in Paraguay, the vaccination coverage against covid-19 it is still even less than 50% according to him Ministry of Public Health (MPSBS).
According to the records, to date, only the 47% of the Paraguayan population she is immunized with the first vaccine against disease, while with second dose, a 40% vaccinated.
Besides, the gap between those inoculated with the first and second dose each time it shortens more. Thus, it went from 21% to only 14.8% according to the latest report presented by the director of Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), doctor Héctor Castro.
This occurs -as they explain- because fewer and fewer people receive the first dose of anticovid, a situation that puts in alert to Public Health, mainly now, after the considerable increase cases, hospitalizations and deaths from the virus.
