- Who can get vaccinated in Mexico City?
- All the people of Mexico City will have the possibility of being vaccinated in the coming months, however, in this first phase of vaccination we are beginning with the vaccination of adults over 60 years of age. Starting on February 15, we will begin with the elderly from the Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras and Milpa Alta municipalities. We will start with other municipalities soon and we ask you to be aware of the dates that we will announce.
- How old do I have to be to be vaccinated?
- In this first stage of vaccination you must be at least 60 years old. This means that your date of birth is before February 15, 1961.
- How do you determine where and when I get vaccinated?
- The vaccination point that corresponds to you depends on the colony, town or neighborhood where you live. On this same page you can consult the Vaccination Unit that corresponds to each colony. The day of vaccination depends on the first letter of your last name. Use this page to identify the day that corresponds to you.
- Do I have to be a Mexico City resident to be vaccinated?
- Yes. All you need to get vaccinated in Mexico City is to carry an official identification that proves that you are a resident of Mexico City. In the case of not having an official identification, the personnel of the Vaccination Units have a protocol to attend to such cases. The purpose of this protocol is to ensure that vulnerable populations without identification receive the vaccine.
- Do I need to be a resident of the Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras and Milpa Alta municipalities to be vaccinated the week that begins on February 15?
- Yes. The vaccination scheme of Mexico City will begin in these municipalities, in order to receive the vaccine it is necessary to carry an official identification that proves that you are a resident of one of those municipalities.
- What if I am a resident of Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras and Milpa Alta, but my official identification marks my residence in another mayor’s office?
- Unfortunately you will have to wait to get vaccinated according to the place of residence of your official identification. Don’t worry, in the coming weeks we will be announcing the dates for the remaining mayoralties.
- Do I need to be registered at mivacuna.salud.gob.mx to get vaccinated?

Being registered is not a requirement to be vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19. However, by registering we can make your experience to receive the vaccine easier. When you register you will receive personalized notifications about the date and place of vaccination that corresponds to you, as well as notification and information about any changes to your appointment. Your registration also helps us to better plan vaccination in Mexico City. Registering is very simple, just go to mivacuna.salud.gob.mx and follow the steps that are presented there.—
- What vaccine will be being used?
- In this first stage of the first phase we will be applying the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. It already has all the necessary health authorizations to be applied in our country, as well as important international authorities such as the European Medicines Agency.
- How do I prepare to go to my vaccination appointment?
- It is essential that you wear a mask. It is also necessary to carry an official identification that shows your mayor’s office of residence. Our goal is that you have to wait as little time as possible, but anyway we invite you to wear comfortable clothes and also anticipate any weather eventuality since the waiting areas will be located outdoors.
- What time should you arrive at the Vaccination Unit?
- The vaccination units are open from 9 am to 8 pm, people will be vaccinated according to the order in which they arrive at the vaccination unit. Each unit can carry out about 500 vaccines per day and tokens will be delivered as the population arrives. If you arrive at the Vaccination Unit after the 500 tokens have been delivered, you will be asked to return the next day.
