The health authority also reported that active cases increased to 57,542 and deaths amounted to 531,114 with 23 registered in the last 24 hours. Of the deaths there were five in Delhi, three in Chattisgarh and Rajasthan, two in Karnataka and Maharashtra, one in Haryana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand and four in Kerala, according to official data.
The day before, the medical service reported 10,753 new infections, which represented a slight decrease in the infections detected on Friday amid the continuous increase in the incidence of the disease in the country.
Taking into account the current epidemiological situation, specialists recommended the mandatory use of the mask in crowded places and respect for the measures established to combat Covid-19.
They warned of the need to protect people at high risk of evolving into a serious illness such as pregnant women, people over 60 years of age, with chronic diseases and underlying health problems.
