COVID-19: Three SAQ branches closed preventively

Three branches of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) in the Basses-Laurentides were closed preventively on Wednesday because employees were affected by COVID-19.

The state-owned company said on Wednesday that it made the decision after testing positive for the virus in eight of its employees.

“The safety of our employees and our customers is paramount,” said Jacques Farcy, Vice-President, Operation of sales networks at the SAQ, in a press release. This is why we are taking without hesitation the decision to close these branches today and to communicate this exceptional measure transparently to our employees, our customers and the public. ”

The affected branches are located on Boulevard de la Seigneurie Ouest as well as Boulevard Michèle-Bohec in Blainville, and Boulevard Curé-Labelle in Mirabel.

“By following the recommendations of the public health authorities, each of the branches mentioned will be thoroughly cleaned by a specialized firm, each employee having worked in the last days in these branches will have to isolate themselves in a preventive manner and pass a test. screening for COVID-19 as soon as possible, ”said the SAQ.

These three establishments will remain closed until further notice.

The SAQ asks its customers who have been in one of these branches in the past few days to carefully monitor the appearance of symptoms related to COVID-19.
