Covid-19: the virus circulates less, but an additional death recorded

Bulletin for March 9, 2021

If the orientation of the epidemic remains reassuring, there are data that give hope that the deconfinement that the prefect Jean-François Colombet must announce is not brutal. As we reported, the World Health Organization (WHO) preaches for progressivity, indicating that without a transitional phase of return to normal, “uncontrolled resurgences of Covid can amplify a new wave”.

Indeed, the positivity rate remains stable at 13% while the number of hospitalized patients is still high, 117, including 93 in medicine and 24 in intensive care.

A new death is to be deplored, bringing to 129 the total of deaths linked to the coronavirus since the start of the epidemic (including 16 in Reunion after medical evacuations). This is an 84-year-old person hospitalized in medicine.

As a reminder, are invited to be vaccinated:

  • Characters over 60 years old
  • People over 50 years of age followed for a chronic pathology (see the list in PJ)
  • People (home help, associations, etc.) in contact with high-risk patients (on indication from the ARS)
  • Agents of public utility companies or in direct contact with the population, after agreement from the ARS
  • Mayotte educational staff aged over 50
  • All health professionals (liberal, hospital, medico-social and local authorities) regardless of age
  • Professionals working in the health sector and in the medico-social sector
  • People with disabilities, whatever their age
