The progression in recent weeks of Covid-19 did not escape health authorities. At the same time, the demand for the vaccination has also evolved upwards. To respond to the campaign of booster doses and others injections anti-Covid, the center of vaccination located at Hippodrome from Marcq-en-Barœul has once again opened its doors.
An expanded reception capacity
The many boxes are open to everyone, but not those dedicated to equines! Since Monday January 10, the vaccination center of the Pont des Arts room has given way to the Hippodrome de Marcq-en-Barœul, with a better accommodation capacity. These are 18 spaces that can accommodate as many patients simultaneously to be vaccinated.
Open 7j/7, the vaccination center can take care of all types of patients, even people with reduced mobility. The pediatric vaccination bringing together children from 5 to 11 years old can also be made in a box dedicated to them, recognizable by the soft toys and books arranged there.
These are more than 2,200 vaccines that can be achieved daily, thanks to the teams of volunteers put in place. “They are around forty, mobilized in the morning and evening. These are often people whom we have met before, who have come to be vaccinated, like Philippe, now responsible for the IT department, ”says Bernard Gerard, mayor of Marcq-en-Barœul.
A millimeter organization
Even if for the first day, the number of doses is revised downwards (around 1,700), the organization remains very precise. Shortly before the opening, the doctor Jean-Louis Salomez, site coordinator, briefs the teams and answers the latest questions: “The rules change very regularly, it is important to do these briefings so that everyone is up to date”, he reports.
The doors open and let several dozen residents rush into the serpentine leading to the registration desks. They are then directed to a waiting area where health professionals, authorized for injections, take them to the vaccination box.
A punch operation which is scheduled for the months of January and February. The duration of the installation will be determined according to the evolution of the health situation and demands.
