Covid-19: the United States advises its nationals against traveling to France because of the virus

The US Department strongly advises Americans against traveling to France for non-essential travel, especially unvaccinated people.

The US Federal Health Agency warned this Monday, August 9 against travel to the France, d‘Israel, from Thailand andIceland, in particular, citing the growing number of new coronavirus infections.

Health alert placed at level 4

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has raised the health warning to level 4 (“very high”) for these countries, as well as for the West Bank, the Gaza Strip or Aruba.

In a separate note, the US State Department also raised its warning on France and Iceland on Monday, calling on US nationals “not to travel” to these two countries.

Concerns about other countries

The United States has also raised concerns about the Croatia, of the’Austria, from Kenya or even the Jamaica. Unvaccinated travelers are strongly encouraged to avoid non-essential travel to these countries, the CDC added.

Vaccinated travelers soon allowed to reenter U.S. soil

Regarding travel to the United States, a White House official hinted a week ago that vaccinated travelers could soon travel to the country. Washington would develop a “progressive approach which would mean, with limited exceptions, that all foreign nationals coming to the United States – from all countries – must be fully vaccinated”, the same source told AFP, without giving a timetable .
