In order to fight more effectively against the epidemic of Covid-19, the Government has decided to extend, from this Monday, January 18, the vaccination to people over 75 years of age who do not reside in nursing homes and to some 800,000 people regardless of their age, presenting a pathology leading to a very high risk of severe form of the disease.
In total, 6.4 million people are “ called to be vaccinated “From Monday, according to Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health.
Which people at risk will be able to be vaccinated from Monday, January 18?
People at increased risk of developing a severe form of Covid-19 are:
- people with cancer and malignant hematologic diseases undergoing chemotherapy treatment;
- people with severe chronic kidney disease, including dialysis patients;
- people who have had a solid organ transplant;
- transplant recipients by allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation;
- people with chronic multiple pathologies, with at least two organ failure;
- those with certain rare diseases;
- those with trisomy 21.
Those affected who wish to be vaccinated must first go to their attending physician who will issue them a prescription.
Since this Friday, January 15, 8 a.m., candidates for vaccination can go to the government site www.sante.fr which lists the card of the 300 Covid-19 vaccination centers (there will be 600 open by the end of January) in order to make an appointment online in the vaccination center closest to their home by clicking on the link that refers to one of the three selected private platforms by the state (Doctolib, Maiia and Keldoc).
People who do not have an internet connection can also make an appointment at the following national number: 0800 009 110, open 7 days a week, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Does the Covid-19 vaccine cost money?
The vaccines against Covid-19 are purchased by the National Public Health Agency, which provides them free of charge. Indeed, a decree of December 31, 2020 provides for all full support pre-vaccination and vaccination consultations, as well as vaccine injection costs.
