The MRC de Papineau and the MRC Vallée-de-la-Gatineau have experienced several outbreaks in recent days, mainly in long-term care centers and private seniors’ residences.

“We are monitoring the situation closely, because it is very worrying,” admitted the Director of Public Health in the Outaouais, Dr. Brigitte Pinard.

“Vigilance must be increased in these sectors,” she added.

The Papineau MRC currently has 53 active cases, while there are 26 in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau MRC. These two territories are still in the orange zone at the present time.

For its part, the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais has only 16 active cases, but it is in the red zone, even if it has twice as many inhabitants as its neighbors.
