Africa recorded an additional 141 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, with the total since the beginning of the pandemic rising to 35,440, and almost 10,000 more cases of infection, to 1,459,714.

10h31: Penacova deactivates municipal emergency plan
The municipal emergency and civil protection plan of Penacova was deactivated this Monday. The Municipal Civil Protection Commission considers the Covid-19 outbreak in the county under control.
In a statement, the City Council of Penacova, district of Coimbra, said that the epidemiological problem “is under control”, after the CMPC triggered the emergency plan on the 10th, when there was a “worsening of the epidemiological situation” – then with 26 positive cases.
