14h15 – 87 more dead and 4,868 cases in Portugal in the last 24 hours
In total 4,363 people have died in Portugal since the beginning of the pandemic and 290,706 confirmed cases have been recorded.
In the last 24 hours, 6,829 recovered cases were recorded, in a total of 206,275 recovered patients.
There has been a decrease in hospitalizations – 53 fewer people hospitalized with Covid-19, – now the total of 3,155 patients across the country are hospitalized.
However, the number of patients admitted to intensive care has increased: three more people, out of a total of 529 patients admitted to the ICU, a new maximum since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal.
The North region continues to have the highest numbers of deaths and cases. In the last 24 hours, there were 42 more deaths and 2,496 cases in this region alone. Lisbon and the Tagus Valley follow, with 29 deaths and 1,313 cases and the Center region with 11 deaths and 775 cases.
The Alentejo accounts for four more deaths and 127 new cases and the Algarve has one more death and 94 new cases.
In the autonomous regions, there were 39 more cases in the Azores and 24 new cases in Madeira.
13:44 – More than 1.44 million dead
The covid-19 pandemic has claimed at least 1,444,426 deaths worldwide since it emerged in December 2019 in China. The indication is from the daily balance of this Saturday, made by the agency France Presse.
More than 61,585,860 cases of infection with the new SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus were officially diagnosed in the same period and worldwide, of which at least 39,186,100 people are now considered recovered from the disease.
13h21 – Mandatory curfew and ban on movement between municipalities generate confusion
Across the country, movement between municipalities is prohibited from 11 pm on Friday to 5 am on Wednesday.
Not everyone fixed this measure and there were even those who had been surprised by the PSP this Saturday morning.

12h46 – Ordem dos Médicos asks for transparency
The president and the Crisis Office for the covid-19 of the Order of Doctors today called for transparency, equity and reasoning in vaccination against the new coronavirus, expressing availability to collaborate in the national vaccination proposal.
“Vaccines are only effective if they are administered, so this whole process must be guided by greater transparency, rigor and scientific justification”, says a press note from the Ordem dos Médicos, following news about priority vaccination groups.

11:52 am – Africa records 305 deaths and 15,573 new cases
Africa recorded 305 deaths due to covid-19 in the last 24 hours, accounting for 51,229 fatalities caused by the new coronavirus, which has already infected 2,136,540 people, plus 15,573 cases.
10h50 – Evolution of the pandemic in the North
According to the most up-to-date data on the evolution of the pandemic in the North, between the days of 12 and 25 November, the municipalities of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Guimarães, Vila Nova de Famalicão, Fafe, Mondim de Basto, Lousada, Trofa, Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde have the highest incidence of cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Highlight for Freixo de Espada à Cinta, which exceeds four thousand cases per hundred thousand inhabitants or for the significant increase in cases in Cabeceiras de Basto, Mondim de Basto and Vila Pouca de Aguiar.

9h54 – Germany registers 21,695 new cases
Germany has recorded 21,695 cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, according to updated data from the Robert Koch Institute, figures that despite being high show a decelerating trend.
The number of deaths, also in the last 24 hours, is 379, below the maximum recorded in a day, 410, last Wednesday.
On Saturday of last week, the number of new infections was 22,964 cases, according to the RKI.

More than 400,000 deaths from the new coronavirus have already been recorded in Europe, according to a survey carried out by the AFP news agency from documents provided by health authorities at 8 am on Saturday.
Europe is the second zone in the world with more deaths in the world due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, with 400,649 deaths and 17,606,370 infections, behind Latin America and the Caribbean (444,026 deaths, 12,825,500 cases).

8:28 am – India with 485 dead and 41,322 cases in the last 24 hours
India recorded 485 deaths from covid-19 and 41,322 cases of the disease in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Indian Ministry of Health.
Since the start of the pandemic, India has accounted for more than 9.3 million cases of the new coronavirus (9,351,109), remaining the second country with the most infections, behind the United States.
With 136,200 deaths since the start of the pandemic, India is the third country in the world with the most deaths, after the United States and Brazil, according to the Johns Hopkins University count.
8h12 – Los Angeles prohibits public and private meetings
City officials in Los Angeles, United States, have temporarily banned most public and private meetings as the curve of new covid-19 contamination continues to rise.
“All public and private meetings of individuals outside the same household are prohibited, with the exception of religious services and demonstrations,” officials in California’s largest city said in a statement.

8:00 am – Mexico registers 631 dead
In the last 24 hours, Mexico registered 631 deaths and 12,081 infected. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of deaths has risen to 104,873 and that of cases to 1,090,675.

This Saturday is again a curfew starting at 13:00 in 127 counties. The measure extends to the weekend and Tuesday’s holiday.
On Monday, the eve of a holiday, the curfew takes place from 15:00 in the afternoon.
These are exceptional measures under the State of Emergency that apply to municipalities where the risk is considered “very high” or “extremely high”
Across the country, movement between municipalities is prohibited from 11 pm on Friday to 5 am on Wednesday.
