Covid-19: The gendarmerie collects 10 million francs in 72 hours

To enforce the barrier measures, aimed at stemming the spread of the coronavirus, the gendarmerie, already in action, is obtaining convincing results. In 72 hours, with ten thousand people checked, 1,231 penalties, 10 million CFA francs were collected in fines.

Measures barriers

Dakar, which has become the epicenter of the coronavirus disease, the High Command of the Gendarmerie is putting a lock around the capital, to enforce the provisions of the order of the Minister of the Interior.

The gendarmerie in action

In three days, the gendarmerie mobilized 855 agents in the beaches, restaurants, bars and transport stations of the capital. The result was not long in coming, 9,962 individuals were checked and 1,231 fined.

Corona business

The gendarmes were able to put in the treasury coffers 10 million from the fines imposed on people who did not wear masks. The gendarmerie also did education, distributing thousands of masks in the streets.
