The deterioration of the health situation in the department led the prefect of Val-d’Oise to take a decree this Friday evening imposing the wearing of a mask in the outdoor spaces of 76 municipalities, “to slow the spread of the epidemic of Covid-19 ”.
Thus, according to the terms of the decree, wearing a mask is now compulsory outdoors between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., for all people over the age of 11, in all municipalities over 10,000. inhabitants, as well as in certain municipalities with more than 5,000 neighboring inhabitants.
Wearing a mask is also compulsory in Boisemont, Puiseux-Pontoise, Neuville-sur-Oise, Ennery, Valmondois, Butry-sur-Oise, Mours, Nointel, La Frette-sur-Seine, Frépillon, Montlignon, Andilly, Margency, Piscop , Moisselles, Bonneuil-en-France, Le Thillay, Vaudherland, Roissy-en-France and Seugy. An obligation valid until February 20.
The working population particularly affected
This reinforcement of barrier gestures is dictated by a sharp deterioration in the health situation in Val-d’Oise. According to information from the prefecture, the incidence rate now stands in the department at 203 and the positivity rate at 5.3, corresponding to nearly 2,550 new cases detected positive per week. 90% of people hospitalized are not vaccinated
“As a direct consequence of this situation, the hospital sector is impacted with a significant increase in the number of hospitalizations of patients with Covid-19,” underlines the prefect, Amaury de Saint-Quentin. “To date, 43.2% of intensive care beds are occupied by patients with Covid”, he indicates. He also specifies that among these patients hospitalized in intensive care, “90% are not protected by the vaccine”.
“The reproduction rate is established in Île-de-France at 1.54, a sign that the virus is actively circulating”, adds the prefect. Another worrying indicator is the number of closed classes in schools. With 326 class closures in Val-d’Oise schools over the past ten days, it has increased “considerably”. According to the Versailles Academy situation update, the number of Covid cases among students across the academy increased by 353 cases in 7 days, reaching 2,063.
Vaccination operation in shopping centers
“There are effective means to fight against this pandemic, first and foremost vaccination and compliance with barrier gestures”, underlines the prefecture of Val-d’Oise. It indicates that the booster dose is now open to all adults over 18, from five months after the second injection, from this Saturday, November 27.
Ten vaccination centers are currently open in Enghien-les-Bains, Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt, Sarcelles, Villiers-le-Bel, Viarmes, Persan, Magny-en-Vexin, Sannois, Argenteuil and Taverny. An additional center will open its doors on Wednesday, December 1 in Cergy, in the premises of the old ice rink, on the forecourt of the prefecture. “The capacity of these centers will soon be 60,000 injections per week against 30,000 currently,” announces the prefecture, which indicates that it is also possible to go to a pharmacy or to your doctor to carry out your booster dose. “Finally, with the approach of the end of year holidays, vaccination operations without appointment in the main shopping centers will be carried out every weekend”, she also specifies.
Note that the presentation of the health pass remains compulsory for a certain number of activities and establishments open to the public (ERP), such as bars and restaurants, including on the terrace. Its validity is conditional on the injection of a booster dose within 7 months after the last injection, before December 15 for those over 65 and before January 15 for those under 65.
