The decline in patients with Covid-19 continues in the hospital, confirming a marked improvement since the beginning of the month, according to statistics released this Saturday by Public health France.
According to the daily update of the health agency Public Health France, the number of hospitalized patients stood at 7,980 this Saturday against nearly 9,000 a week before and 11,000 at the beginning of September, with 196 admissions in 24 hours.
1571 patients in intensive care
Among these patients, 1,571 are hospitalized in the intensive care units, reserved for the most serious cases, against 1,837 a week before and nearly 2,300 at the beginning of September.
Critical care services, which treat the most serious cases, have received 54 new patients in the past 24 hours.
France has recorded 29 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since the start of the epidemic to some 116,450.
71.6% of French people received two doses of the vaccine
In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 50,345,190 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 74.7% of the total population) and 48,247,475 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 71, 6% of the total population).
