The seventh wave is indeed beginning to sweep over Anjou. While the Pays de la Loire Regional Health Agency has decided to no longer publish its weekly bulletin, the Covidtracker site announces an exponential increase in contamination in Maine-et-Loire. In just one week, the incidence rate, the main indicator of the circulation of the virus, almost doubled in the department, going from 572 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on June 28 to 1,109 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on July 5.
The positivity rate is also increasing. It stood at 35% on June 28 and now exceeds 37%.
In hospitals, tension remains low, but the number of patients with Covid-19 has risen sharply in the past week (+20%). Just like that of people admitted to intensive care (+64%).
