Covid-19: Soyo has a new field hospital

Luanda – The municipality of Soyo, in the province of Zaire, will have, from next Thursday, a field hospital for the treatment of patients affected by Covid-19.

It is a field hospital offered by the United States Armed Forces Africa Command (AFRICOM), which is located in the compound adjacent to the municipal hospital in Soyo, in the province of Zaire.

With a hospital capacity of 40 patients, this field hospital will also admit patients with other infectious diseases, thus complementing the existing efforts of all American agencies in the fight against Covid -19 around the world.

The official delivery of the infrastructure to the Angolan government will be made by the US Ambassador to Angola, Nina Maria Fite.

While in the province of Zaire, diplomat Nina Maria Fite plans to visit the historic center of Mbanza Kongo, as well as the Museum of Kings and the ruins of Kulimbimbi Cathedral.

For March 25, the American ambassador will donate various books to the local media library and visit the site where the future Soyo refinery will be built.
