Covid-19: Seven patients in the Latvian U-20 hockey team

Several players with Covid-19 have been identified in the Latvian U-20 hockey team, therefore the team will not go to the tournament planned for next week in Austria.

As reported Latvian Hockey Federation, before the Latvian national team and Latvian U-20 national team games planned for next week, all Covid-19 tests were performed for all those involved in the teams – players, coaches, staff.

“The test results of seven Latvian U-20 players turned out to be positive, and these seven players are currently in quarantine. The contact persons who are currently in self-isolation have also been identified. The relevant clubs and parents are also informed about the situation,” LHF statement. “For safety and health reasons, to protect players, the Latvian U20 national team will not start a training camp and will not go to next week’s St.Polten tournament in Austria.”

The analyzes turned out to be negative for the players, coaches and service staff of the Latvian national team. Thus, the Latvian national team will fully prepare for the “Deutchland Cup” tournament on Monday. Only two home teams will play in this tournament together with the Latvian national team.
