Covid-19 self-insulation on the “yellow list” – also Slovenia, Austria, Sweden and Norway / Article

People who have not been vaccinated or have not contracted Covid-19 will need to be self-contained when entering from Slovenia, Austria, Sweden and Norway, according to information published by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (SPCC). Apart from Latvia, 10 European countries remain on the list of safe countries.

The 14-day cumulative rate of Covid-19 incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries has decreased from 214 to 209.2 during the week.

The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) shows that the 14-day cumulative Covid-19 incidence rate per 100 thousand inhabitants in Latvia in Latvia has increased to 49.3 (38.8 a week ago).

The incidence has also increased in Estonia, reaching 203.1 last week (142.1 a week earlier). In Lithuania, it has risen to 202.5 (133.9 a week ago).

Travelers entering or returning to Latvia from any EU / EEA country included in the “green” or “yellow list” and holding a vaccination or disease or so-called Covid-19 certificate do not have to comply with self-isolation.

The list of safe countries, where the incidence of Covid-19 does not exceed 75 cases per 100,000 population, includes 10 countries, not including Latvia.

The “yellow list” included 24 EU and EEA countries with more than 75 cases per 100,000 population in 14 days. When entering from these countries, people who have not been vaccinated or have contracted Covid-19 should adhere to self-isolation.

CONTEXT:

The list of safe countries grew significantly in the summer of 2021, but then began to decline again as morbidity rates increased in many parts of Europe due to the Covid-19 delta variant. According to the common European decision, the “green list” threshold has also been increased in Latvia from 50 to 75 diseases cases per 100 000 population. On the other hand, if a person who returns to Latvia is subject to the requirement to observe self-isolation, it may be terminated after seven days, by retesting Covid-19 and finding it negative.
