Indonesia recorded 4,943 new cases of COVID-19 today, Saturday (23/7/2022). This figure was accompanied by 4,108 recovered cases and 9 COVID-19 patients who died.
Today, as many as 104,640 specimens were examined, with 5,871 suspects. Meanwhile, the total number of active cases is now 39,065, and the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is 6,164,271.
Previous data on Thursday (21/7), RI recorded 4,834 new cases of COVID-19 with a total of 6,159,328 confirmed cases.
The increase in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia was recently triggered by BA.4 and BA.5, the new Omicron subvariants. Indonesia recently also recorded a subvariant Omicron BA.2.75 which is feared could prolong the peak period of the COVID-19 crisis.

1. Bali: 59-year-old female patient with fever and sore throat
2. Jakarta: 39-year-old female patient has fever and sore throat
3. Jakarta: 6-year-old female patient has fever and sore throat
4. Jakarta: 29-year-old female patient has moderate symptoms.
