Spokesperson for the COVID-19 vaccination of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that this record addition of cases was actually due to an increase in the number of testing and improvements to the reporting system so that data on the number of new cases and Dead more legible.
“If you look at the increase in positive confirmations lately, it is in line with the increase in the number of testing and improvements in the recording and reporting system,” explained Dr. Nadia in a virtual press conference, Wednesday (14/7/2021).
“We need to convey that the increase in death rates and positive confirmations is due to an automatic verification system in the examination lab which eliminates the tiered verification process so that reporting becomes more transparent and timely,” he continued.
According to him, the increase in the number of testing also affects the stability of the positivity rate. However, the achievement of the number of COVID-19 tests according to the target, he said, had only occurred in DKI Jakarta.
“Our positivity rate tends to be stable. This is also in line with efforts to increase testing, where the target we must achieve is 324 thousand people who are tested per day. The increase in cases that are still occurring is due to the large number of transmissions that occur in the community,” added Dr. Nadia.
“However, only DKI Jakarta has reached the target for the number of daily tests with the speed of additional tests observed in the last 10 days,” he concluded.
